A note on Jan Karon’s visit to The Library of Virginia

You might have heard bestselling author Jan Karon will be at the Library of Virginia this Friday, November 12, but you might not know a few details:

Seating is first come, first seated.  There are approximately 200 seats available in the auditorium.  Overflow seating will be available.

Jan Karon will not sign books the day of the event.  If you want an autographed copy, you need to purchase one from The Virginia Shop.  You can pre-order copies of In the Company of Others and Jan Karon’s Mitford Cookbook and Kitchen Reader on the shop’s website, www.thevirginiashop.org.

The Library of Virginia will be closed for Veterans Day on Thursday, November 11.  If you have questions about the event, remember to contact The Virginia Shop on Wednesday.

In case this is all new to you, here is the information from the Library of Virginia:

Friday, November 12, 2010
Time: Noon–1:00 PM

Jan Karon will discuss In the Company of Others, the second novel in Karon’s new series, The Father Tim Novels, featuring Father Timothy Kavanagh, the beloved retired Episcopal priest from her Mitford series. In this novel, Father Tim and his wife, Cynthia, travel to Ireland to do genealogical research and discover family secrets. In the Company of Others is a moving testament to the desperate struggle to hide the truth at any cost and the powerful need to confess. Of all her winning novels, Karon says this “dark-haired child” is her favorite—a sentiment readers everywhere are certain to share.

Enjoy the event!
